ABOUT THE BOOK
If you haven't already met Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, you're in for a treat. Wise, wonderful and warm, he is almost as irresistible as the town of Three Pines in snowy Québec.
A New York Times bestseller. Winner of the New Blood Dagger, Arthur Ellis, Barry, Anthony, and Dilys awards. Three Pines, a television series adapted from the books starring Alfred Molina, debuted on Amazon Prime Video in December.
The discovery of a dead body in the woods on Thanksgiving weekend brings Chief Inspector Armand Gamache and his colleagues from the Sureté du Québec to a small village in the Eastern Townships. Gamache cannot understand why anyone would want to deliberately kill well-loved local artist Jane Neal, especially any of the residents of Three Pines - a place so free of crime it doesn't even have its own police force.
“It’s hard to decide what provides the most pleasure in this enjoyable book: Gamache, a shrewd and kindly man constantly surprised by homicide; the village, which sounds at first like an ideal place to escape from civilization; or the clever and carefully constructed plot.”—Chicago Tribune
