For adults with dementia and their caregivers offers a a welcoming, safe, calming space for socializing, music, art and reminiscing every month.
A “Memory Café” is a dementia-friendly social gathering for individuals with early-stage memory loss or mild cognitive decline and their care givers.
The meetings will be held in a safe and comfortable environment where people can interact and socialize with others having similar experiences. At the gatherings participants can get support in a non-judgemental setting, while enjoying the benefits of music for the brain.
The meetings will be run by Lisy Espindola, LCSW and Kim McLennon, MSW and music therapist. Lunch and/or snacks will be served.
This is a joint program between Lifelong Montclair at the Township of Montclair and the Montclair Public Library.
