Join the monthly gathering of families that homeschool. This month MPL is pleased to feature one of our own homeschoolers, Evelyn Mitchell on harp. Join us at 12 noon for her harp concert.
From 11 am to noon please join us to say hi to friends old and new. Bring your favorite board game to share. Librarian, Enola Romano, will display parenting books about homeschooling. Registration is not required.
Evelyn Mitchell is a homeschooler looking forward to her high school graduation in June 2024. With two college acceptances so far, she plans to major in sociology and minor in psychology next fall; with a future goal of becoming a psychologist.
Evelyn started playing a folk harp at nine years old and now plays a repertoire of songs using a lever harp. She has conducted many harp workshops at libraries in Essex and Union counties. She also volunteers her musical talent at nursing homes. Most notably, Evelyn performed with the NJ Youth Symphony this year as well as Paul Shaffer last year. Her harp teacher, Robbin Gordon-Cartier, continues to elevate Evelyn’s skills.
