Michele Kriegman, a Native American activist, adoptee and author ("Finding Faith” in The Birth Fathers Club Series), will talk to Gabrielle Glaser, bestselling author of "American Baby: A Mother, a Child, and the Shadow History of Adoption" and co-producer of the documentary “Stolen Generation” about the recent landmark U.S. Supreme Court case that upheld the Indian Child Welfare Act, which is still expected to be challenged in the near future. Why is there ongoing controversy over its principles which, as Kriegman has put it, "requires legal cause to be shown for termination of parental rights, prioritizes children’s placement with extended family, and values preservation of children's heritage by keeping them within their culture when possible." A question and answer period will follow the discussion.
