Enjoy this true and inspirational story for children.
"Our Side of the Bridge" tells how actions impact a community and how working together makes a difference. It was written by a mother, with photographs from her two young daughters about what it means to lend a hand. Sometimes, it means letting go of their mother so she can travel 7,000 miles to build a footbridge. Over two weeks, a team of volunteers built the Kabere Suspended Bridge in Rwanda. They collaborated with Bridges to Prosperity, a nonprofit that partners with local governments to connect communities. The presentation will include a photography display in the Cafe area from July 2-29. Joanna dela Rosa was born in Manila, Philippines, emigrated to the US, and attended NYU to pursue journalism, photography and studio arts. She lives in NJ with her family.
