Early registration available June 7!
Go behind the scenes of the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) and get an inside look into their world of food with a student-led tour and Q&A session. Enjoy a delicious three-course meal at CIA's American Bounty Restaurant; they serve contemporary and traditional regional dishes with a focus on the seasons and products of the Hudson Valley. After the CIA, we'll be transported to Eleanor Roosevelt's stone cottage, Val-Kill—the only National Historic Site dedicated to a First Lady. There you'll be provided with information by a park ranger and be able to tour the cottage as well as the lovely gardens and grounds. We'll also stop in at the Visitor's Center, which features several exhibits on Eleanor Roosevelt and her life and influence. Price includes lunch.
Special notice: Registration closes July 2nd. There will be a pre-selected menu for the group. Adult School staff will provide the menu ahead of time in order to deal with any dietary restrictions.
Instructions: We will meet at 7:30 AM. You may park your car at the Walnut Street Parking Plaza—Ice Rink area. The parking lot is on the Grove Street side of the tracks. From the corner of Gove and Walnut, head west on Walnut to Christopher St. (by baseball field). Turn right onto Christopher and left onto Label. Make a sharp right and park in the spots along the fence beyond the permit parking area and close to the Clary Anderson Arena. NOTE: in order to comply with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, the bus is not permitted to idle more than three minutes while waiting for passengers. Therefore, please be advised that the ignition will be turned off, and neither the air conditioning nor the heat will be operating when you board the bus.
