Hudson Shakespeare Company returns to Montclair Public Library with a groovy take on Shakespeare's witty battle of the sexes romp - "Much Ado About Nothing". The show is transplanted from Elizabethan times to the mod era of the early 1970s punctuated with day-glo outfits and period songs. The story follows soldiers Don Pedro (Jon Ciccarelli), Benedick (John Short) and Claudio (Emily Glazer) returning from war and arrive at governor Leonato's (Zack Hendrickson) home to party and start up life again. Benedick's rest and relaxation (R&R) in thwarted by his teasing ex-girlfriend Beatrice (Noelle Fair). The pair spar verbally so muc that their friends can only do one thing - get them back together. Benedick's impetuous best friend Claudio is also looking for love with Leonato's daughter Hero (Alyssa Gray) and a wedding is planned but the jealous Don John and his sidekick Boracchio have plans to disrupt the proceedings. Will the summer of love end well for all?
Masks are required for attending indoor programs.
