In honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Rabbi Ariann Weitzman will lead a talk for teens on the graphic novel Maus by Art Spiegelman.
Maus is a graphic novel memoir about the Holocaust and is the target of a recent school book ban. In this timely discussion, we'll unpack why book censorship persists, what happens when those voices are silenced, and how everyone is impacted by it.
Rabbi Ariann Weitzman is an Associate Rabbi and the Director of Congregational Learning at the Bnai Keshet Reconstructionist Synagogue. She is a passionate Jewish educator committed to truly innovative approaches to Jewish teaching and learning.
All registrants will be entered into a drawing to win Maus Volumes I & II. The winner must be present at the program, or another name will be drawn to receive the books.
