ABOUT THE BOOK
“Magic Lessons” went on sale on October 6, and the book is receiving critical acclaim:
“Hoffman’s striking latest entry in her [New York Times bestselling] “Practical Magic” series (after “The Rules of Magic”) turns to 1664 rural England for the origin story of Maria Owens, matriarch of the series’ clan of witches….Maria’s page-turning adventure is thoroughly enjoyable…[the] redemptive story of a fiercely independent woman…”–Publishers Weekly
“Storytelling is in Hoffman’s bones, and the skill with which she dispenses information and compresses time, so that a year passes in a sentence, so that a tragedy witnessed becomes the propeller for a hundred-page subplot, is (forgive me) bewitching.”--The New York Times
