Students will learn the basics of whiskey production, attending a lecture and seeing the distillation process at the Jersey Spirits Distillery in Fairfield, NJ. The class will cover the history of Whiskey, grain requirements and selection, grain mashing, yeast fundamentals, fermentation, distillation theory and practices, and barrel aging. Each student will partake in a handful of tastings and receive liquor to take home.
